Shipping policy
Worldwide Shipping & Handling Policy
White-Glove, Fully Insured International Delivery
At Japanese Transoms, every piece we offer is a one-of-a-kind cultural artifact.
Because of this, shipping is not treated as a flat commodity, but as a careful, case-by-case process handled with respect for the work and its history.
Shipping & Handling Deposit
At checkout, a $300 USD shipping and handling deposit is collected with your purchase.
This deposit covers:
-
Professional packing and crating
-
Export preparation and documentation
-
Initial handling and coordination
-
Partial shipping costs
Because each antique varies in size, weight, destination, and courier requirements, the final shipping cost cannot be accurately determined until the item is fully packed and dispatched.
Once your piece ships, you will be invoiced separately for the remaining balance of actual shipping costs, if any.
We do not apply arbitrary markups.
You are charged only the real, incurred cost required to deliver your piece safely.
